PURPOSE

This webinar will present an in-depth look at the GRE Verbal Reasoning Measure by examining the different question types that test-takers will encounter in the Verbal section of the GRE. We will also discuss effective test-taking strategies and consider study resources available to test-takers. There will be time for a Q/A.

By attending this session, you will: 

  • Understand the different question types on the GRE Verbal Reasoning Measure.
  • Learn effective strategies for addressing each question type.

Tom Pearson

Tom Pearson is an Assessment Designer in the Graduate and Professional Education area at Educational Testing Service (ETS), in Princeton, New Jersey. He has been at ETS for over 20 years, working primarily on the Verbal Reasoning Measure of the GRE® General test. Pearson served as lead test developer for the Verbal Measure for eight years and currently serves as GRE coordinator, overseeing all test development work on the GRE General Test.

Arum Perwitasari Ph.D.

Dr. Arum Perwitasari is an Academic Relations Lead at ETS EMEA Amsterdam. She is an experienced educator with many years of experience in English Language Teaching (ELT) and digital learning and assessment. She also holds a PhD in Linguistics from Leiden University in the Netherlands. Prior to moving to the Netherlands, Arum was an Assistant Professor of English in Indonesia.
